Bandit Intimidator 18XP ft. Loglogic Bespoke Tracks
The Bandit Intimidator 18XP, built by US manufacturer Bandit Industries and supplied in France by ALM, is a heavy branch chipper capable of processing material up to 52cm in diameter. Fitted onto a Loglogic bespoke tracked undercarriage, this unit has gone to work for Cirade Environnement, a specialist in managing wetlands and other ecologically sensitive habitats - giving the chipper access to soft, waterlogged ground that a wheeled or standard-tracked machine would simply churn up.
Purpose-Built For Sensitive Ground
With 600mm wide tracks and a ground pressure of just 260g/cm², the tracked Intimidator 18XP spreads its considerable weight - the base chipper alone weighs 5.7 tonnes - over a wide footprint, in much the same way Loglogic's own Softrak range is engineered to protect delicate Fens, peatlands and other reserve terrain. The chipper's own capabilities are untouched by the conversion: a 175hp engine, 94cm cutting drum and four reversible blades give Cirade Environnement full-size branch-processing power in places a conventional chipper could never go.
Another Bespoke Tracks Success
The Bandit Intimidator 18XP joins a growing list of specialist machines Loglogic has adapted with bespoke tracked undercarriages - each one built to bring stability and mobility to equipment that would otherwise be confined to firm, dry ground.
Loglogic designs and manufactures bespoke tracked undercarriages for specialist and OEM equipment, alongside its own Softrak, Geotrak, Bigtrak and Tooltrak vehicle ranges, from its site in Cullompton, Devon.
