The Softrak undercarriage is the ultra-low ground pressure track system fitted to our own Softrak vehicles, supplied as a standalone module. It comes in three lengths: 4 roller pairs as standard, or 5 or 6 pairs where higher loads or lower ground pressures are needed. Each extra pair adds about 550 mm to the mounting centres and overall length.
Its 600 mm Bridgestone rubber tracks have flexible edges that deflect over obstacles, and floating bogies give a smooth ride over rough ground, so the track moulds to the terrain for the lowest possible ground pressure.
The track bodies are built in high-tensile steels and mounted on transverse cross-tubes, so track width can be changed. The fully floating bogies are polyurethane-mounted, and the heavy-duty rollers use taper roller bearings with purpose-built Loglogic cassette seals.
Track tension is set by grease-filled rams with nitrogen-filled accumulators for recoil. With all-steel rollers, idlers and sprockets and a track tensile strength of more than 32,000 kg, de-tracking is virtually eliminated. Capacities are indicative, as the load depends on how the machine is used over the terrain.
Tell us about your machine, its weight and where it works, and our team will confirm the right configuration.
