The Softrak ROV undercarriage takes the Softrak track system subsea. Its 600 mm Bridgestone rubber tracks have flexible edges that deflect over obstacles, and floating bogies give a smooth ride over rough seabed, keeping ground pressure as low as possible for the size of track.
The galvanised track bodies are built in high-tensile steels and mounted on transverse cross-tubes, so track width can be changed for different applications. The fully floating bogies are rubber-mounted for vibration isolation and maintenance-free operation, and the track and top rollers have stainless steel labyrinth seals and high-pressure polyurethane seals to keep out seawater, sand and dirt.
Every roller and idler has a pressure-compensating piston, so the grease pressure inside matches the seawater pressure. Grease lubrication lets contamination be flushed out during routine servicing, and stone and debris exclusion bars keep foreign objects out of the track.
Track tension is set by grease-filled rams, adjusted with a standard grease gun, with nitrogen-filled accumulators that let the track recoil if something becomes trapped. Air weight limits are indicative, as the load depends on how the machine is handled during deployment and retrieval.
Tell us about your machine, its weight and where it works, and our team will confirm the right configuration.
