Loglogic has supplied specialized Softrak and Softrak 120 tracked vehicles to industry partners participating in a UK government funded initiative converting wetland vegetation into usable bioenergy feedstock.

Following initial feasibility trials by the RSPB to convert problematic wetland biomass into heating briquettes, the Department of Energy and Climate Change established the Wetland Biomass to Bioenergy initiative. The project evaluates the complete end to end supply chain, from terrain harvesting to final energy generation.

Loglogic provided machinery to project partners AB Systems, AMW Ibers, and Natural Synergies to execute harvesting operations across challenging terrain. Deployment expanded beyond standard fenland to include dry and wet heath, bracken, gorse, mire vegetation, scrub, and grassland.

The harvesting phase demonstrated that low ground pressure tracked equipment can clear tough vegetation without damaging fragile soils. Successful field results have secured additional funding to continue evaluating bioenergy processing methods for harvested wetland material.
