Engineering expertise from a Mid Devon company has earned international recognition, with Loglogic shortlisted for Exporter of the Year at the Western Morning News Business Awards 2016.

Cullompton based Loglogic, a specialist in reed harvesting, wetland management and low ground pressure tracked machinery, has been named as a finalist in the Exporter of the Year category.

The company has developed and supplied specialist machinery for customers in some of the most challenging environments around the world, with its equipment operating from the jungles of South America to the Russian Steppe.

Interest in Loglogic’s machinery has continued to grow internationally, with recent enquiries received from the USA, Russia, Denmark, France, Belarus, Lithuania, Portugal, Ukraine and Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman.

Western Morning News editor Bill Martin told Loglogic managing director Marcus Frankpitt that the standard of entries had been particularly strong this year.

“The number and quality of entries we had this year was higher and better than ever, so to be shortlisted as a finalist is a considerable achievement. You should be very proud.”

Loglogic director Graham Mitchell said the recognition reflected the expertise and commitment of the company's engineering team.

“We have a tremendously skilled and dedicated bunch of employees working here and helping us to sell our products all over the world.

“I am delighted that, thanks to their hard work, we have been recognised this year by the newspaper as one of the candidates to win the Exporter of the Year title in these prestigious business awards.”

Alongside its established range of tracked vehicles, Loglogic has also developed a new slope drilling rig for site investigation. The machine is designed to provide access for drilling on difficult slopes and represents a potential new market for the company.

In the UK, Loglogic's all terrain vehicles are being used across a range of demanding environments, including the Somerset Levels, the Norfolk Broads, the Anglesey Fens in North Wales and the Scottish Highlands.

The company's machines are also used by emergency services, including for launching lifeboats around the British coastline.

The Western Morning News Business Awards 2016 ceremony will take place in Plymouth on November 17, when the winners of each category will be announced.
